A brain or spinal cord tumour and its treatment can change how the mind and body work. You or your family members may notice changes in how you speak and your personality, memory, movement, balance or coordination.
The types of changes will depend on what part of the brain is affected by the tumour and what treatment you have had. Rehabilitation is treatment designed to help people recover from injury or disease, restore your previous abilities or help you adjust to any changes.
CARE AND RECOVERY AFTER BRAIN SURGERY
After brain surgery, it will take time for the patient to return to his/her usual level of energy. Healing requires extra rest.
The amount of time required to recover after brain surgery is different for each person and depends on:
* The procedure used to remove the brain tumor
* The location of the tumor within the brain
* Areas of the brain affected by the surgery
* The patient’s age and overall health
The patient should expect to stay in Palon ReWalk Recovery & Rehabilitation Centre for minimum 15 days.
